The kit includes a piece of genuine leather that is necessary to repair larger damages (holes larger than 1 cm in diameter), such as holes or tears where the leather is missing.

The included piece of leather is cut to fit the damage and then glued to the reinforcement fabric using leather glue.

The transitions between the damage and the surrounding leather are smoothed out with leather putty.
